The team is managed by ChrisTomline, who holds a Degree in Early Years Education and has been with the company since 1993. We have appointed two deputy managers who provide cover as required. All rooms within the nursery are supervised by experienced senior practitioners. These practitioners, along with the management team, are responsible for ensuring that high standards are maintained at all times and we are constantly developing our practice to achieve the highest standards possible.
All practitioners are fully qualified to a minimum of level 3 in childcare and early years development ( NNEB,DCE, BTEC, NVQ3 or equivalent) and are expected to maintain current Food Hygiene certificates, Child Protection/Safeguarding Children training and First Aid qualifications. On-going training is provided and encouraged to provide professional development and maintain contemporary good practice.
We believe that it is vital to create an atmosphere within our Nursery environment that is based on caring, nurturing and warm relationships between our staff and the children in our care and their families. During the day your child will be cared for by dedicated and caring qualified Nursery Practitioners. Your child will be allocated a “Key Person” within their room setting. This key person is responsible for providing the link between home and nursery, and for ensuring that your child feels secure, happy and valued whilst they are away from home.
We understand how important it is that parents and guardians share all aspects of their child’s day and their progress. Your child’s key worker will liaise closely with you to ensure that you are well informed of your child’s development and experiences whilst at Nursery.
All our nursery staff know that they are effective role models within the setting, and recognise that children are led by example. Good manners, mutual respect and patience are demonstrated at all times during the day throughout our Nursery.
All of our staff members have been approved by both OFSTED Early Years and by the Disclosure Barring Service. Most have been with us for over ten years.
A high Adult to Child ratio is essential in providing good quality early years care. Our staffing levels are always maintained to exceed the legal requirement set by OFSTED.
A staff photo board is displayed in the reception showing the roles and qualifications of each member of staff.
We are open from 7.30am to 6.00pm from Monday to Friday throughout the year including school holidays.
We are closed on statutory bank holidays and also during the week between Christmas and New Year.
The Green Nursery is registered with OFSTED.
You can download and read the most recent OFSTED report here, dated 2014 and we are classified as GOOD in all aspects of early years provision.
All of our staff members have been approved by both OFSTED Early Years and by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), previously Criminal Records Bureau. You can read more about our nursery staff here.
