We occupy an appealing, easily accessible building with several rooms and areas providing a wonderful learning environment. The children are grouped by the stage of development they have reached, ranging from Babies, Toddlers, Tweenies to Pre-school and these 4 groups each have their own large rooms within the nursery.
Look through the windows at the top of this page to discover each room in detail.
We have a light and airy dining area where the older children are expected to sit at a table to eat their meals. Meal-times are a sociable activity and children are allowed to at eat their own pace in a relaxed and happy atmosphere.
We have separate children’s bathrooms to serve the Toddlers and Tweenies on the ground floor with child height toilets and hand basins. We have separate nappy changing and potty training rooms for our babies, toddlers and tweenies.
We ask you to supply nappies and this is reflected in our fees structure. We believe parents prefer to provide nappies themselves as they know what suits their child best. We have ample storage shelves in the nappy room to store individually-named supplies. When potty training starts we ask that parents supply a named potty for their child‘s exclusive use and also a few changes of clothes in case of accidents.
Preschool children have their own facilities adjacent to their room on the first floor.
We have a large, secure garden with shaded areas and an extensive weather proof canopy. The garden is divided into separate play areas enabling children to play safely outside as appropriate to their age and ability.
Within these spaces we have created a growing and digging area with a greenhouse, where children are encouraged to plant seeds, water them and watch them grow into flowers and vegetables. We have a sand and water zone, a large construction area, a large physical play area and an outdoor role play area. We also have an outdoor ‘kitchen’ which is very popular for making mud pies.
In Spring 2018 we installed a new wooden activity centre in the baby and toddler garden which is proving very popular.
Our garden is used in all weathers and is an extremely important extension to the children’s learning environment.
We are open from 7.30am to 6.00pm from Monday to Friday throughout the year including school holidays.
We are closed on statutory bank holidays and also during the week between Christmas and New Year.
